Jamie is a Lubbockite and an alumni of Monterey High School, Texas Tech University, and Lubbock Christian University. Her teaching career began in 1992 with LISD as a 3rd grade teacher at Hunt Elementary, where she taught 2nd and 3rd grade for Hunt and Bozeman Elementary for 11 years. Changing into an instructional coach for Bozeman for 4yrs, and in the 07-08 school year she became an administrator. Jamie spent seven years in elementary admin. In 2014 became the assistant principal for Smylie Wilson, and this will be her 3rd year as Assistant Principal for Matthews Academy.

 Jamie has a son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Rebecca, and two grandbabies, Walker and Katherine. She is a member of the Milwaukee Avenue Church of Christ
