HANG UP & HANG OUT!
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why is Lubbock ISD making this change?
Our focus is to help students devote more time and attention to their learning and provide teachers the opportunity to teach your child in the most effective learning environment possible.
In an effort to minimize distractions and maximize instructional time, we’re implementing a standardized cell phone policy for Lubbock ISD middle and high school campuses and encouraging them to “Hang Up and Hang Out!” In a time when students are more connected than ever to their personal devices, it is important to help them learn appropriate use of their technology, develop interpersonal communication skills with peers and teachers, and engage in their learning at school.

Where can I find more information?
Each campus will provide more detailed information about specific requirements related to this policy. Families are always welcome to call or visit the school if they need to contact their child during the day.
