• Digital Learning Plan - All Phases

District Focus Goal: Lubbock ISD will embrace and sustain modern technology tools and digital resources as a fully integrated system to equip, prepare and empower future-ready learners.

    Phase 1 - 2016-2017

Priority #1 All teachers will receive a mobile device (14” Chromebook) and initial training to maximize communication, collaboration, data input/access and the instruction/learning process for students.

Priority #2 Fifteen selected schools will receive Chromebook carts containing enough devices to enable each student access to a Chromebook in every core classroom, second through twelfth grade. Campuses with existing carts will be supplemented with new carts to ensure core classrooms are covered.

Priority #3 All schools in the district will have a minimum ratio of 1 Chromebook cart per 150 students. Existing Chromebook carts will be supplemented with new carts to bring every school to this ratio.

Priority #4 Selected schools will receive new large displays (65” - 70”) to replace existing SMART Boards in core content classrooms. Interactivity for each board will be determined by the grade level and subject matter. The existing classroom computer in each of these rooms will be replaced with a new device.

Priority #5 School libraries will receive a Chromebook cart available on an as-needed basis for non-core classrooms.

    Phase 2 - 2017-2018

Priority #1 The second group of fifteen selected schools will receive Chromebook carts containing enough devices to enable each student access to a Chromebook in every core classroom, second through twelfth grade. Campuses with existing carts will be supplemented with new carts to ensure core classrooms are covered.

Priority #2 Core classrooms in these same fifteen selected schools will receive a new Windows 10 computer connected to a new large LED display, second through twelfth grade.

Priority #3 Additionally, prekindergarten through first grade classrooms in these same fifteen selected schools, as well as the fifteen year 1 schools, will receive a Windows 10 computer connected to a new large LED display that is height adjustable to allow our younger students to interact with the display.

    Phase 3 - 2018-2019
