The Superintendent Scholars program is designed to help students improve their PSAT scores prior to the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) in October of their junior year. Colleges and scholarship programs are very attentive to the PSAT/NMSQT, and students have the opportunity to be recognized as National Merit or National Hispanic Scholars as a result of their performance. While the PSAT/NMSQT is just one test, the opportunities that can result are immense. Superintendent Scholars is intended to help students maximize their performance for this exam.
Students will learn techniques and test-taking strategies specifically correlated to answering questions on the PSAT and SAT. In preparation for these tests, students will receive instruction and materials for the three content sections of verbal, math, and writing of the PSAT, which in turn will prepare them for the SAT as well.
