Topic: Final Paychecks for Resignations and Retirements
Employee must electronically submit a resignation/retirement letter to the Human Resources Department. See the Human Resources Department website for additional information (staff must be signed into the Lubbock ISD website to view information).
Final paychecks will be dispersed on the following circumstances:
- Resignations during the school year: Employees will receive their final paycheck the month after their resignation date (ex: Employee resigns March 15, final check will be disbursed at the end of April).
- Resignations at the end of the school year: Employees will continue to receive their paychecks as if they were employed throughout the year. The procedure that will be followed is based on the assignment each individual was placed in during the school year.
Employee received first paycheck in July, last paycheck will be June.
Employee received first paycheck in August, last paycheck will be July.
Employee received first paycheck in September, last paycheck will be August.
- Retirements: Retirements will receive their final paycheck based on the month the employee is retiring. (ex: Employee resigns March 15; final paycheck will be dispersed at the end of March).
Regardless if employee is retiring or resigning, all paychecks will be direct deposit.
