Pest management in schools falls under the state guidelines of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Lubbock ISD (LISD) is required by the state to have an IPM Coordinator, who can be contracted through the Facilities Department, to oversee the IPM program for the school district.
At the start of each school year, a written set of guidelines is provided to the campus by the IPM Coordinator and shall be referenced throughout the year. The Facilities Training document also includes general guidance regarding pest management.
It is state law that anyone applying pesticides or herbicides at schools must have a valid licenses issued by the State of Texas for the application.
