Mr. Ron Motley

Mr. Motley is beginning his first year in Lubbock ISD, but he comes to us with a wealth of experience in teaching engineering, 3D printing, and hands-on courses.  Mr. Motley is teaching Infinity I and II courses and will be participating in local and area STEM challenges with students.

Mr. Motley is a proud graduate of Texas Tech University with a BS in chemistry with his teaching certification from Texas Wesleyan.  After nine years in Keller ISD, he has returned home to Lubbock.

Mrs. Lauren Van Zandt

Mrs. Van Zandt is beginning her first year teaching at Mackenzie Middle School.  She is teaching several periods of Career Investigations (PITSCO) as well as 6th grade science.  Her goal is to give her students a peek into the many career pathways with hands-on coursework so that they are prepared to make choices when they enter high school.

She is finishing her teaching certification from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Mrs. Teresa Carter

Mrs. Carter joined the staff of Mackenzie Middle School at the beginning of the 2016-17 school year, moving from Kansas.  She has developed an active makerspace in the library media center, where students have the opportunity to build and create during the day as well as after school.  Students produce green screen videos, 3D design and print, build marble runs, sew, create artwork and string art, build, learn to solder, and MUCH more.  She is also teaching a Skills for Living course this year in which students will learn about everything from career options to culinary skills, sewing, and basic floral design.

She earned her BBA in business education from Oklahoma Panhandle State University and MS in business education from Emporia State University.
