Mrs. "Magistra" Alicia Ball

Magistra Ball, a 1999 National Merit Commended Scholar, graduated cum laude from Texas Tech University with a BA in Classical Humanities and Latin. She minored in history. She has been studying or teaching Latin for 29 years. This is her 4th year as an AVID elective teacher. Magistra is also a long-time member of the American Classical League, Texas Classical Association, and Texas Classroom Teacher's Association. She joined the Coronado faculty in 2005 and has taught psychology and sociology in addition to Latin and AVID. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in school counseling at Lubbock Christian University.

Magistra Ball married the CHS German teacher, Herr Ball, in 2012. In February 2017, they were blessed with a daughter, Mikaela. Magistra enjoys spending time with her family, including two dachshunds named Kassie and Siggie. Her interests include word puzzles, cross stitch, journaling, reading mythology, and watching movies.
