Mrs. Lisa Dudding

Welcome to the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center.  I am proud to be the Administrator of our campus and Assistant Director of our Career and Technical Education programs. The Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is celebrating 20 years where we began our partnership between Lubbock ISD, South Plains College and Market Lubbock (now LEDA) with one idea in mind—preparing students to enter the workforce with a wide range of high-wage, high skill, high-demand career choices through the courses offered at the ATC.

I have been an educator for 35 years with 28 years spent as a business education and computer technology teacher and as a Career and Technical Education Coordinator. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University, and I received my Master’s degree from Southwestern State University. I have two beautiful children who are alumni of Coronado High School. My son, Kale, is a teacher and coach at Irons Middle School. My daughter, Lauren lives in Charleston, South Carolina, and is a Human Capital Executive Manager for Paylocity. Lubbock will always be our home, even though, we are scattered across the country.

Students may attend the ATC starting their sophomore year. Students enrolled in courses at the ATC take two consecutive classes or one double-blocked course at a time, so they are at the ATC campus for two periods every day. We have over 40 different courses we offer at the ATC for students to take. We offer courses in culinary arts, floral design, law, computer maintenance, computer technology & networking, audio/video production, Ready, Set, Teach, construction technology, machining, welding, auto collision, auto technology, graphic design, animation, 3D modeling and animation, commercial photography, and many different health science courses. The ATC provides students with the opportunity to receive articulated college credit, dual credit, and earn industry certifications. Our goal is for all students to graduate from high school with a skill set that will allow them to be ready to enter the workforce or pursue post-secondary education.

I encourage LISD students and their parents to learn more about the challenging opportunities available at the Byron Martin ATC. Please contact us for more information or call to set up a tour of our beautiful facility.   We hope to see you on our campus this school year!
