Dr. Cooper was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas by way of Lockhart, Texas.  She is a product of Lubbock ISD as well as a graduate of TTU 3 times.  She graduated with an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies with a minor in English & Business Admin.  Her master's degree is in Education Leadership with a Principalship & Superintendency Certification.  Some years later, she completed a Doctorate of Education in Education Leadership with an emphasis in Curriculum & Instruction.  

 

Dr. Cooper has been with LISD for over 20+ years and has worked in the classroom at O.L. Slaton, Mackenzie, Estacado & Coronado.  Prior to her teaching career,  Dr. Cooper worked in Corporate America working in the healthcare industry, banking, and corporate communications.  She was also a business owner of a women's boutique store in the local community.  She has spent the last 12 years as an Assistant Principal at Coronado High School.  She is very happy to call the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center her new home.

 

She has a wonderful husband of 27 years along with a daughter who is a 21-year old college student.
