Mrs. Susan Fraizer

I have been blessed to work part-time at Waters since 2016 as a STAAR interventionist. Although my paid position started in 2016, I started "working" as a PTA volunteer at Waters in 1999. I grew up in Colorado and moved to Texas after high school. I graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas with a Biology/Composite Science degree and a secondary certification for science. My husband and I moved to Lubbock in 1991 where I taught high school science for 2 years before staying home to raise our family. We have 3 children who all attended Waters Elementary. My goal is to prepare students for the STAAR test by helping them with test-taking skills like breaking apart questions to see what they are asking and teaching them ways to manage test-taking anxiety.

Waters has been part of my family since 1999. My passion for my position comes from having a child who was diagnosed with dyslexia while she was in elementary school. I believe each of us learns in a unique way and sometimes we all need a little extra help to get to the next step in our education. My prayer is that each student realizes they have the ability to tackle things, even if those things seem to be difficult to them at the time.
