This is my twenty-third year working in Lubbock ISD and twenty-fourth year in education. I have been a teacher, coach and assistant principal in middle school and high school before moving to the elementary level. I grew up here in Lubbock and consider it a blessing to be able to work in the same school district and city that I grew up. It is a great privilege working in Lubbock ISD and being your principal!

We are excited to be in our new building home as we begin our sixth year in existence as Jayne Ann Miller Elementary. We moved into our new building in January of 2015 and everyone in the Miller community did a tremendous job in helping make our move a great success. I am really excited to watch our students participate in the many educational and extra-curricular activities that are offered at our school. Our P.T.A. has done an outstanding job helping us and continues to be very supportive and encouraging for our students and teachers. I want our school to truly be a place where students leave better prepared for middle school and for life because of the people who invest so much of themselves for the betterment of our children.

I am in my nineteenth year of serving as an educator for Lubbock ISD. I began my career in education as a third grade reading teacher. Over the last eighteen years, I have taught all subjects areas at the elementary level, primarily as a fourth grade teacher. Before becoming a Miller Owl, I served as a district literacy coach, working with Kindergarten through Fifth grade teachers and providing professional development at the campus and district level. I am so excited to be the assistant principal and member of the Miller Family!
I have three wonderful children that keep my husband and I very busy! I enjoy road trips with my family, going to the movies, and curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee. I am passionate about education and am so thankful that I have been blessed with many opportunities to work alongside teachers, parents, and community members to positively impact the lives of our students.
