Elisa Quinones - Office Support Aide
I was born and raised in Durango, Mexico, in 1984. I moved to Texas and I have been here in Lubbock for 21 years. This is my 9th year at Overton. I have 2 kids, my son Lloyd (25) and my beautiful daughter Elisa (12). I went to college at South Plains College in Levelland and got my certificate in Office Technology Administration.
I love to spend time with my kids. We watch movies, talk, read and listen to music. We have 2 cats, Whiskers and Shadow.

Becky Saldivar - SOS
I was born and raised here in Lubbock. I’ve been with LISD for 25 years. My husband Rudy and I have been married for 26 years. I have 3 sons Chris-36, Eric-30 and Noah 21 and 2 beautiful granddaughters Alicia-18 and Leah-15. I also have 2 dogs Caesar and Toby and my cat Molly. One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my family and my peeps. I’m always up for a good movie.

Desiree Hayes - RDSPD Speech-Language Pathologist
I was born and raised in Midland, Tx. I am a SWCD and TTUHSC graduate. I have a AAS degree in Interpreting for the Deaf, a BA degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and a MA degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I have worked for RDSPD OF LISD since 2008. I started off as an Interpreter for the Deaf, then transitioned to an SLP Assistant, later becoming the full time SLP for RDSPD. I am fluent in ASL and have a heart for the Deaf community and culture! 🤟🏻LOVE my RDSPD kiddos and being a part of the RDSPD and Overton families 🤟🏻. As you can tell from the pictures, I also have a heart for animals! ! I am married to my love, Matt, and my 5 furbabies!! I have a passion for visual and performing arts and I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, arts and crafts, and attending sporting events in my free time.

Emily Kolb - Speech Pathologist
I am the Speech-Language Pathologist at Overton. I graduated from Texas Tech. I am a momma to two beautiful girls and walk through life with my amazing husband. I love sewing and quilting when I can find the time. Dance parties with my two year old are the best part of my days. After a long day, snuggling up with a blanket, book or movie is my love language. So excited for this year!

Allyson Fowler - Diagnostician
I am Allyson Fowler and I am the diagnostician at Overton Elementary. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. Go Red Raiders! I received a masters degree from Lubbock Christian University. I am a Mom to three wonderful children and two equally wonderful son in laws. My two precious grandkids are the icing on the cake! I have a yorkie named Maxi that rules the Fowler household. This is my fourth year at Overton and I am so happy to be here. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and help ensure that every student gets what they need to be a successful Mustang!

Judith Reese - Educational Interpreter for the Deaf
I was born in San Antonio, raised in Round Rock and moved to Lubbock 9 years ago. I have been working as an Educational Interpreter for 18 years now. I have an Early Education Degree but LOVE interpreting! I am a mother to one beautiful daughter, Paizley (9). I love to read, sew and be outside in my free time. I love my big family. I am the 7th of 11 children. I love music and all that it entails. I am excited to start a new year and see what adventures await.

Kristi Davis - PE
This is my 5th year at Overton and my 3rd year in PE.I love being active and interacting with the students in PE. They get a kick out of me playing Chaos with them. (The only time you can throw something at a teacher and not get into trouble!!) I have 3 kids(2 daughters & 1 son), my youngest will be a Freshmen at Coronado this year. I have a grandson who just turned 4 and he is one of the best blessings I could ever have asked for. ( I promise I am older than dirt!!) I have 2 black and white Shih Tzu’s which we adopted and the littlest one was rescued. When I’m not hanging out by the pool with my family or friends, I like going to the beach and also relaxing in the mountains. I’m looking forward to this year and getting to know everyone. Hope everyone has a GREAT year!!

Melissa Key - PE Teacher
I was raised in Post, TX. I am a LCU graduate. This will be my 19th year teaching, 18 of them here at Overton as the P.E. Teacher and I Love This School. I have been married to my husband Chris for 18 years. We have two children, Carson 14 who will be a Freshman and Rhealee 11 who will be a Sixth Grader. I love spending time with my family and taking and watching my children play sports. I am really excited about this upcoming school year!

Leah Harper - Art
I’m excited to be starting my 10th year at Overton! I’ve been with my same specials team the whole time, THEY ROCK! I was born and raised in Lubbock, graduated from Lubbock High, then eventually I graduated from SPC and Texas Tech. I have two wonderful daughters. My oldest is currently in California pursuing a dancing career, and my youngest is still with me working on finishing up High School. I love to travel with “My Dad” (john), we recently bought an Airstream trailer that we are redoing. It currently resides at Lake Caddo, which is my other home. I love to be outside or in the garden or basically wherever the sun is, I also love to cook! My favorite color is light tan and my favorite animal is poopies!

I was born and raised in the lubbock area. I have been married for 23 years and we have 3 grown sons and 1 daughter-in-love who are the coolest humans on the planet! We have 2 dogs with way to much hair! I’m going into my 11th year at Overton. I love reading, studying God’s word, shopping, and spending time with friends. I’m excited about this upcoming year! Veronica Mendez - General Ed Teacher Assistant
I am entering my 7th year with LISD as a TA. I recently decided to pursue my teaching degree through Wayland Baptist University. I have been happily married to my husband, Nic, for 17 years. We have three amazing kiddos, Nico -16, Nicolai -14, and Kira -12. In my downtime I like spending time with friends & family, whether it be going to the movies, gaming, or chilling at home.
I am looking forward to beginning this new year with the Overton family.

Born and raised in Lubbock. I have 4 adult children, lots of grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, Madeline a blessing in our family. Been married to my husband David for 48 years. I was a classroom teacher for 13 years and a Librarian for 21 years.
My teaching degree, Texas Tech University and my librarian endorsement, from North Texas University.
I love reading all different kinds of books. I enjoying spending time with my family.

Originally from Queens, New York, I spent a good portion of my childhood enjoying the four seasons in Barrington, Rhode Island,before moving to Katy, Texas.
I am currently attending Texas Tech, studying Sport Management, am a member of the Texas Tech Polo Club and a United States Polo Association Social Media Intern!
I enjoy spending any down-time I have reading, riding, playing tennis or going on adventures with my dog, Nola.

Kim Trevino-Herrera - SPED Inclusion/Resource
This will be my 3rd year at Overton, but I feel like I have been here my whole life- since I did spend my elementary years at this amazing campus! I am a mother to two amazing children- Kenedi 2nd grade & Maddex 1st grade, and a wife. I graduated from Coronado High school, and born & raised in LBK, Tx. I am currently earning my bachelors degree in Behavioral Health Science from Grand Canyon University with plans to graduate in December 2023. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends (when I am not drowning in HW or coaching volleyball). I am outgoing, competitive ;), hardworking, and passionate about everything I do!
I am excited for this school year and to meet all of you! Here’s to a great year and our Overton family growing!

I graduated from the University of North Texas in December. I moved to Lubbock from the DFW area earlier in the year. This will be my first year teaching and I am so excited to be joining the Overton family and community. I recently got married in January and we have 2 cute dogs. I love traveling, hiking and going on adventures.

Maria Casias - Special Education Teacher
I grew up in Plainview Texas. We moved to Lubbock 26 years ago. I have been married for 30 years to Ricky. I have two daughters the oldest would have been 28 years this year. My second daughter Maricela is 26 years old and has three beautiful girls. My granddaughters are Makennley Faye who has gone with our heavenly father, Tegan Rain who is 5 an in Kindergarten, and Nola Moon who is 1. My family is my world. I love just hanging out. I also enjoy reading a good book. I graduated from Grand Canyon University in May of 2020. This will be my second year at Overton.
I am thankful for the the amazing work family we have here at Overton.

Connie Watson - 5th Grade Math
I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. I have been teaching for 15 years. This is my 10th year to teach at Overton Elem. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Nolan, for 28 years (on Aug 20th). We have a 25 year old daughter, McKaleigh and a 21 year old son,Landry. My favorite things include spending time with my family, playing golf, and walking my dog Charlee. My favorite place to be is at the lake or in the mountains. I love listening to music (all kinds) and chewing gum because I find both to be very calming.

Karen Litteral - 5th Grade Science
I am excited to begin my 29th year teaching. I have had the fun of teaching around the world and back - spending years teaching in Indonesia and Korea. I have had the honor of calling Overton home for the past 13 years.
I love being mom to a 15 year old daughter, Bailey. As she starts her Sophomore year at Lubbock High School, ost spare time is spent watching her play volleyball, run track and dance as part of the Pom team.
We love to camp, travel and explore new places.
When there is quiet time, I love to read, work in the garden and snuggle our two pups and ornery cat!

Chris Sanders - 5th Grade RLA
I am excited to begin my first year of teaching at Overton Elementary! I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2015 and worked for 6 years as a software engineer. I’ve lived my whole life in Lubbock and have been very involved with my church youth group as a worship pastor and small group leader. This involvement helped me find a love for working with students, and I left programming to pursue teaching this past January. My wife, Emma, and I have been happily married for 4 years. I love camping, playing with our nieces and nephews, and woodworking.

This is my 8th year at Overton Elementary. I am married to Michael and we have 3 children: Adaleigh (16), Zaid (13), and Xander (10). I am a product of Lubbock ISD! I attended Coronado High School then Texas Tech. I’m so excited to be here and am looking forward to seeing the students!

I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. I graduated from Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University. My husband and I have been married for 2 wonderful years and we have a dog named Daisy. This will be my ninth year of teaching 4th grade. I am excited to join the overton family for the upcoming school year!

Nicole Gomez - 4th Grade Math
I am a recent graduate from Texas Tech. So, this will be my first year teaching and I am ecstatic. I love music, movies, and musicals. Jazz and Rock are my favorite genres but I really listen to everything. I am an avid board game player but my favorite game is Guitar Hero or the Sims. I love watching the Dallas Cowboys and taking long walks. I love to paint and sculpt.
I am ready to be a part of the Overton family!

Madison Bacon - Third Grade RLA & SS
This is my second year here at Overton and my fifth year as an educator with Lubbock ISD and I am so excited to be here! My husband and I have one 5-year-old son named Abel who will be in Kindergarten this year here at Overton and we are also foster parents, so when I’m not here at school loving on kids, I’m at home loving on kids. I can’t wait to start getting to know my students and I believe we’re going to have a fabulous and productive year together!

Matt Boyd - Third Grade Math & Science
This is my 2nd year at Overton, and my 13th year of teaching in LISD overall. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. I just became recently engaged to be married! When I am not at school I love spending time with my fiancée, our nieces and nephews, and our dog, Dixie and cat, Cricket. I am so excited to be a part of the Overton family for another great school year.

I am very excited to begin my first year with Lubbock ISD. I spent 20+ years working in the medical administration field. I was fortunate enough to be able to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher and spent the last 3 years teaching for Levelland ISD. I was born and raised in Lubbock. I am married and have 2 grown children, a daughter and son-in-law whom I consider mine, and 3 beautiful grandchildren. Spending time with them is what I love to do the most.

I have been teaching for 30 years now! Wow! Time flies when you are having fun! Most of my time has been spent in 3rd grade, but I have taught 1st grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. This year I am teaching 2nd Grade Math and Science.
I graduated from Texas Tech in 1991 with my Bachelor´s degree and again in 2003 with my Master´s Degree in Educational Leadership. I am currently working on a second Master´s degree in Specia Education from LCU.
I love spending time with my sweet dog Mea, and attending the many events my godchildren are involved in.

I am entering my 6th year as an educator. I absolutely love teaching as I love to help people achieve their best! I graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelors Degree and later went on to pursue a Masters Degree in Advanced Literacy Instruction. I am happily married to my husband, Brian and we have 5 children. We love to camp and explore various parks. However, our favorite time is spent watching our kiddos participate in activities.

I was raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico and moved to Lubbock in 2015. This will be my third year at Overton and I am looking forward to learning all about first grade! Some of my favorite things are spending time with my new husband, working on our house, and reading. I also looove animals and the outdoors!

Sylvia Bandy - Kindergarten Deaf Ed
I was born in Africa but grew up in Oregon, Arizona and South Dakota before moving to Lubbock in 1978. I earned my degree to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing from Texas Tech University. I have taught for almost 40 years, all in LISD and all Deaf/HH. I have an amazing, outstanding phenomenal, daughter who is across the hall in preschool Deaf/Hard of Hearing. I also have a son, Trey, and he’s pretty awesome. Both my children attended Overton in their elementary days. I have two grandsons: Kyle who is 17 and James who’s 13. They say being a grandma is better that being a mom and sometimes I’d have to agree. My kids and grands are my world! I have a doggy, Saidi, who is my bestie and protector. In my spare time I like to read, garden, quilt, do crafts and watch spooky movies.

Maggie Sappington - Kindergarten Teacher
I am originally from the Lubbock area, but have spent the past 6.5 years in the Panhandle in Shamrock, Tx. I also taught kindergarten there for the past 6 years. This will be my first year with Lubbock ISD, and I am so excited about it! I have a 2 year old daughter named Emersyn. She definitely keeps me on my toes! I also have a dog named Harley who is about to be 10.
I love spending time with Emersyn, golfing, music, hanging out with friends/family, Texas Ranger baseball, and all things Texas Tech! I also love a good Netflix show every now and then.
I am thrilled to be joining the Overton family!

Ellen Hedlund - Kindergarten Teacher
This will be my fourth year as an educator since earning my degree from Wayland Baptist University. While this is my first year with Lubbock ISD, I have been teaching kindergarten in Plainview and the North Texas area before coming back to West Texas! Teaching is such a rewarding profession, and I look forward to helping students achieve their dreams and goals. When not staying busy in the classroom, I enjoy working out, traveling, baking, crafting, hiking, riding, and doing anything outdoors. I am excited to join the Mustang family!

MaKayla Rodriguez - Pre-K Teacher Assistant
I was born and raised in Lubbock. I graduated from Monterey this year so this will be my first year as a Teacher Assistant. I was in the Ready, Set, Teach program. I have two dogs named “Rupert” and “Teddy”. I enjoy watching kdramas during my free time and some of my favorites are “Hospital Playlist” and “It’s okay to Not be Okay”. I also love listening to music. “Stay Gold” and “Try Again” are my favorite. I would love to visit Seoul and Tokyo one day.

Jennifer Frazier - Pre-K Teacher Assistant
Starting my 7th year in pre-k with 4 years at Williams and 3 here at Overton. I am mother to an amazing 17-year-old son, Kyle. If you see me walking through the halls in tears this year just know that he’s a senior, he’s my only child and I’m struggling! I enjoy watching him play football, throw shotput for track or just hanging out with him watching sports or cracking jokes with one another. I have a younger brother, Trey, and a nephew, James. My momma is my inspiration and I yearn to be like her when I grow up. She teaches across the hall here and has is entering her 34th year.. I have a pitbull mix named Oliver who is full of energy and love. Many moons ago I attended Overton for 5th and 6th grade so it’s pretty awesome to be walking the halls again. I look forward to continuing my education for early childhood. I have no idea what I enjoy in my spare time as the only hobby I have had for 13 years or so is following Kyle to whatever extracurricular event he has but I’ll figure something out.

I have been married 45 years. I have 5 children (4 adopted). I have 8 grandchildren. I have been a foster parent to 19 children. I have taught 42 years, 38 with prekindergarten deaf children.

I was born and raised in Lubbock. This is my 13th year in Pre-k, 12 of them at Overton.
I have been with my husband for 18 years. We have 3 beautiful children, Catalina 7, Christian 5, and Joshua 3. We enjoy watching movies, going fishing, swimming, and bbq-ing. We are animal lovers, we have 3 dogs, 1 cat, and fish.
I enjoy crafting in my free time and am working on building my small business, selling items I create.

Amberly Wheeler - ECSE Teacher Assistance
I have worked at Overton for 8 years now and love it. I also work in the United bakery in the evenings and on the weekends. I have been married to my husband Lucas for 4 years and we love to spend time together, especially at the Corn Maize every fall. I love to spend time with my family which includes my parents, sister and brother in law. I cannot wait to see the kids walk in the building with smiling faces.

Blessed with a beautiful family, my husband Jesse and I have been married for 29 years with 3 children-Angel-29, Catalina-21, and Jesse- 16. This year we were gifted an additional 2 adorable grandbabies, total of 4 now! FAMILY is everything to me and spending time with them is the best ever!! I can’t forget my fur babies Ace and Speedy. You can find me in the office or knocking on your door for attendance or giving you a reminder to post grades:) Looking forward to another new school year!

This is my 2nd year here at Overton Elementary and it has been a great experience . I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. I graduated from Estacado High School in 1997. I have been for married for 21 years to Jason Subia and have two older sons Alexsander 23, and Domnick 22, and my only daughter Nevaeh 15 and she goes to Coronado High School as a 9th grader this year. I love spending time with my family and friends. And we are always busy & enjoying every time my daughter is playing softball and volleyball. I am excited and looking forward to what this year has in store for me. LET’S HAVE A GREAT YEAR OVERTON FAMILY!!!
