I am so excited to begin my second year as principal at Ramirez Elementary.  I started my career in the district in 1997 as a teacher at Bean Elementary.  After 15 years of teaching experience, I then moved into my first leadership role as their Assistant Principal.  I then served the district as the Bilingual/ESL Coordinator.   I earned my bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies and master's degree in bilingual education from Texas Tech University.  I also hold a master's degreee in educational administration from Lubbock Christian University.  

We had an extraordinary first year even amidst COVID!  Our collaborative efforts ensured a continuity in learning for our students.  I look forward to another excellent school year! 

Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!

I’m excited to begin my role as Assistant Principal at Ramirez Elementary. I have been in the field of education for over 25 years.  I have been a Classroom Teacher, Literacy Leader, Early Literacy Facilitator, Instructional Specialist, Reading Interventionist and an Administrator.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Bilingual Education in 1992 from the University of Texas at El Paso. In 2001, I received my Master’s degree as Instructional Specialist in Dual Language and completed my Principal Certification in 2008. 

I came to the field of education with a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of students.  It is my belief that all of us play an important role in shaping the lives of our students to reach their full academic potential and become productive citizens in their community.

I look forward to supporting students, staff and the community of Ramirez Elementary.

I am excited about the possibilities that this school year will bring and proud to be part of the Ramirez Community. Let’s have a great 2019-2020 school year!
