  • Teacher and Paraprofessional of the Year

    Lubbock ISD had the honor of recognizing some amazing educators last week during receptions for our Teacher and Paraprofessional of the Year across the district. Each feeder pattern named their elementary and secondary Teachers of the Year. The award is presented annually to remarkable educators in recognition of their diligent efforts in educating tomorrow's generations and as encouragement for the tangible impact they make through the long hours and dedicated commitment to their students.

  • PTA Luncheon

    As the end of the year approaches the Lubbock ISD Council PTA hosted a luncheon for student scholarship winners and campus representatives. Council awards were given out to schools that not only worked hard throughout the year to contribute time and efforts towards service and excellence, but they also honor those members who have dedicated their efforts to the educational success of children and the promotion of family engagement in schools.

  • Supermarket Earth Day Events

    H-E-B and United Supermarkets had events related to recycling and Earth Day, last week. Both supermarkets have planned these community events to help train and prepare young students to be conscious of their earth-friendly habits, like recycling.

  • Lt. Olga Custodio speaks at high schools

    Talkington SYWL, Estacado, and Lubbock HS JROTC were presented with a unique opportunity to listen and learn from America's first Latina fighter pilot, Lt. Col. Olga Custodio, USAF. Students listened to her journey of hardship, perseverance, and determination to follow in her father's footsteps in serving her country.
