  • The Monterey Chinese Language and Culture Club will meet Monday after school in Ms. Chen's room 268 from 4:15 to 5:15.  Our guest speaker, Dr. Wang from Texas Tech, will be teaching the evolution of Chinese written characters plus how to create Chinese calligraphy with traditional brush strokes.  Join us  Mondays after school in room 268!

  • Students interested in trying out for Monterey​'s mock trial team should come by room 257 and pick up a tryout packet.  Deadline for picking up packets will be 3 p.m. on Friday, March 9, and tryouts will take place after spring break.

  • The Plainsmen win the second game of the season beating Brownwood HS 7-3.  Lex Garcia got the win on the mound going 4 innings 7 strike outs.  Roman Rangel and Matt Slowik both had two hits on the day.  Luke Watson and Braden Alexander both had 2 RBIs.

  • The Lady Plainsmen basketball team went 2-2 in the Frisco ISD Tip-Off this past weekend. Braylyn Dollar and Maddi Stephens performed well with multiple double figure scoring games.

  • The Lady Plainsmen JV Blue, JV, and Varsity basketball teams won last night at Odessa Permian. Braylyn Dollar led all scorers with 17 points while Sydni Wagoner, Maddi Stephens, and Mirakle Bradley each scored 11 points. The Lady Plainsmen will travel to Frisco this weekend to compete in the Frisco ISD Tip-Off.

  • The deadline to register for the ASVAB interest exam is Wednesday, November 8th.  Any Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who are planning to take ASVAB need to make sure that you have completed the registration on google.    The registration link is on the Monterey website/counselor department, or you can pick up a registration flyer in your counselor’s office.  Make sure you get registered by November 8th.

  • Pass/Fail Forms are due this week, Friday, November 3rd.  If you were eligible to take courses as pass/fail, your counselor visited with you face to face and gave you the form to be signed.   Make sure you get that form turned back in to your counselor by Friday.  Visit with your counselor if you have questions.

  • We will have 2 University Admissions Representatives on campus next week. On Wednesday, November 1st, a rep from St. Edwards University will be here; and on Thursday, November 2nd, a Baylor rep will be here. Please sign up in the front office for a pass to visit with them.
