Mrs. McDougal VFW Teacher of the Year

At the beginning of the year, Mrs. McDougal was nominated for the VFW Teacher of the Year Award. This award is for a teacher who promotes civic responsibility, flag etiquette, and patriotism. They also help students develop a better understanding of democratic values and beliefs. VFW's local chapters, called Posts, recognize one outstanding teacher in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Local Posts submit winning names to their district-level judging, 39 surrounding communities. From there, selected winners are forwarded to the state-level. Winners from the state-level are passed along to VFW National Headquarters for consideration in the national awards contest.

Mrs. McDougal is the K-5 local, district, and state winner! Her nomination will now be judged at the national level.

The Waters' faculty, staff, and student body are so proud of Mrs. McDougal and extremely lucky to get to work with her on a daily basis.
