Williams ES Students Learn About Science with Hot Air Balloons
Volunteers from the Southwest Regional Balloon Club visited Nat Williams Elementary School for their annual Balloon Explorium. Students were given the opportunity to learn about the science behind balloon flight amidst an inflated, full-sized hot-air balloon. Following the demonstration, fifth-grade students broke into teams of four to construct their very own tissue paper balloons.
This event is one of the many valuable traditions of Lubbock ISD that allows the education to move beyond the classroom and into the real world through hands-on experience.
