Lubbock HS NJROTC Earns 16th Consecutive State Qualification

The Lubbock High School Navy Junior ROTC Unit has qualified for the state NJROTC drill championship for the 16th consecutive year after an impressive showing at the Area Nine qualifying drill meet in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. First-place trophies were earned in Armed Drill Team, led by senior Jonathan Patterson; Fitness Team, led by junior Chris Valdez; Academic Team, led by senior Madison Donaway and Color Guard, led by junior Caydence Wallace. The team also earned the second-place trophy in Uniform Inspection and the third-place trophy in Unarmed Exhibition Drill, led by senior Danielle Campbell. The NJROTC teams will compete in the Area Nine NJROTC Drill Championship in Oklahoma City in January.
