First- and second-place winners in each of their contest areas advanced to compete at the state SkillsUSA competition in Corpus Christi in April.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communication skills. Senior students, who excel in craftsmanship and leadership, also received scholarships to attend South Plains College in the fall.
