TTU National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Honors Lubbock ISD Coach and Students

Estacado High School offensive coordinator and quarterback coach James Vint was inducted into the Texas Tech National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame and was awarded with the 2019 Don Black Assistant Coach of the Year award during a scholar-athlete awards banquet on April 24. Coach Vint helped lead the Matadors to the regional round of the playoffs in 2018, gaining over 5,000 yards of total offense for the second straight season. A nationally recognized clinic speaker, Vint gives lectures at Nike Coach of the Year Clinics, Frank Glazier Clinics, and State Association Conventions. In 2012, he received a 20 Professionals Under 40 award by the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, student athletes Roland Castro (EHS), Carson Freimuth (LHS), Caden Hensley (CHS), Cameron Stevenson (CHS), and Brock Thetford (MHS) were recognized with High School Scholar Athlete Awards.
