Lubbock ISD celebrates full week of athletic signings

This last full week of school means senior signings and celebrations. Seniors from Lubbock HS, Monterey HS, Coronado HS, and Estacado HS signed their letters of intent to their chosen colleges last week. 

MHS Soccer - Davien Jaramillo - Schreiner University
Davien Jaramillo, a senior at Monterey High School, has been a Varsity Soccer team member all four years and has contributed goals in all four seasons. Davien’s work ethic and relentless attitude led him to be voted team captain this season. Lubbock ISD would like to congratulate Davien for signing his letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at Schreiner University.

LHS Soccer - Nathalia Avalos - Wayland Baptist University
Lubbock ISD would like to congratulate Nathalia Avalos, a Lubbock High School soccer player that signed to continue her athletic and academic career at Wayland Baptist University. In Nathalia's soccer career at Lubbock HS, she scored 32 goals, helping her team finish sixth overall this season. Congratulations Nathalia!

LHS Track & Field - Alyssa Singletary - Lubbock Christian University
Lubbock High School's Alyssa Singletary signed with Lubbock Christian University for Track and Field. This year Alyssa held a personal record of 5’8 in the high jump and 2:51.97 in the 800 meters. Congratulations Alyssa, Lubbock ISD wishes you the best of luck.

LHS Cross Country - Joseph Guerrero - University of Southwest
Congratulations to Lubbock High School senior, Joseph Guerrero who signed to the University of Southwest to continue his athletic and academic career while running cross country. Guerrero helped his team finish fifth in the district by holding a record of 19:09.1 in the 5000 meters race.

LHS Track - Elizabeth Florez - Lubbock Christian University
Lubbock High School student, Elizabeth Florez, finished her senior track and field seasons with five first-place wins under her belt. Lubbock ISD would like to congratulate Elizabeth for signing her letter of intent to continue her track career at Lubbock Christian University. 

LHS ​​Rodeo and Powerlifting - Thalia Cedillo Gonalez - Tarleton State
Thalia Cedillo Gonalez, a Lubbock High School (LHS) senior, signed his letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at Tarleton State University. Thalia has been a part of the LHS powerlifting and rodeo team during her high school years. Lubbock ISD is excited to see what her future at Tarleton State holds for her. Congratulations Thalia.

CHS Wrestling - Devin Diaz - Nebraska Wesleyan 
Devin Diaz, a senior at Coronado High School, committed to Nebraska Wesleyan to continue his athletic career in wrestling. Diaz placed fourth in the regional wrestling meet this year making his coaches proud. Congratulations Devin!

CHS Wrestling - Xavier Montemayor - Wayland Baptist
Lubbock ISD congratulates Coronado High School senior Xavier Montemayor for signing to continue his academics and wrestling career at Wayland Baptist University. Xavier placed 3rd in the regional wrestling event in his junior year, and he placed 1st his senior year. We are proud of our Mustang.

MHS Track - Anna Hunt - Paul Quinn College
Monterey High School student, Anna Hunt, signed her letter of intent to Paul Quinn College to continue her career in Track and Field after a successful senior season. This season Ana brought home nine medals including anchoring the 4x200 to a first-place finish. Lubbock ISD wishes the best of luck to Anna, congratulations!

EHS Cheer - Selena Ortiz - Lubbock Christian University
Estacado High School student Selena Ortiz, signed her letter of intent to cheer at Lubbock Christian University next fall. Selena received a $1000 scholarship for cheer. Selena was an outstanding member of Estacado’s Varsity cheer team. Congratulations Selena!

CHS Softball - Destanie Salinas - Lubbock Christian University
A Lady Mustang, Destabie Salinas, signed to continue her athletic and academic career as a softball player at Lubbock Christian University. Destanie was an important player that helped her team finish sixth in the district by the end of the season. Congratulations from Lubbock ISD!
