Hutchinson MS Celebrates 70 years

Hutchinson Middle School hosted a celebration on Friday evening to commemorate their 70thanniversary of serving students and families in Lubbock ISD.

Alumni stopped by to eat, reminisce with classmates and peruse the yearbooks, scrapbooks and other treasures. Additional memorabilia on display included clothing and uniforms, student artwork and 70 years of photographs. Food trucks, a photo booth, giveaways and the filling of a time capsule added to the fun for attendees.

A particular highlight included the return of alumni R.G. Box and his best friend James Pope. Pictured below with photographs they're captured in, the pair told stories about their days at Hutchinson Junior High School in the 1950s. Another special guest included Jerry Grimes, the wife of Roy Grimes, who was principal of Hutchinson from 1961-1987.
