Varsity Wrestling at EMS Wrestling Tournament

The Monterey Boys’ Varsity Wrestling Team competed in the EMS Wrestling tournament in Saginaw, TX. over the weekend.  The Plainsmen were led by several wrestlers and at the end of the 2 day tournament, the Plainsmen were crowned Champions!

 

Individual Results:

Freshman, Bradyn Valdez: Placed 1st at 106 lbs., pinning his opponent in the finals.

Freshman, Ryley McBride: Placed 3rd at 120 lbs.

Freshman, Joseph Torres: Placed 1st at 138 lbs., also pinning his opponent in the finals.

Junior, D Lacy: After losing his 1st match, won 5 in a row, to place 3rd.

Sophomore, Jeremiah Guerrero: Placed 2nd at 182 lbs.

Junior, Ky Sandoval: Placed 2nd at 195 lbs., defeating one of the top 5 wrestlers in the semifinals, 11-4.

Sophomore, Devlin Offutt: Placed 4th at 220 lbs.

Freshman, Mason Maldonado: Placed 5th at 285 lbs.

 

Please congratulate these guys on their amazing accomplishment. The Plainsmen JV & Varsity will travel to Amarillo on Tuesday, to take on the Sandies & the Longhorns, before heading into the Christmas Break.
