Auto Tech Students Earn First at NMJC Automotive Invitational

The Lubbock ISD Automotive Technology team collectively won first place at the New Mexico Junior College Automotive Invitational competition in Hobbs last weekend after strong performances from all students on the team.

Brandon Allen (Coronado HS) earned first place overall, Gabriel Rasco (Coronado HS) earned fourth place, Esteban Garza (Lubbock HS) earned fifth place, Jaden Gortney (Monterey HS) earned seventh place and Donovan North (Lubbock HS) earned 9th place. Each of these students also earned awards in the form of scholarships or a box of tools.

After the competition in New Mexico, Auto Tech students attended the SkillsUSA district competition where they earned 34 medals and three scholarship offers. Read more about the competition in the linked NMJC and SkillsUSA competitions
