ATC Senior Receives Robert Ellis Patterson Student Art Award
Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center student Hope Sherman received the Robert Ellis Patterson Student Art Award last Friday at the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA) along with a $300 cash award. She was joined by her animation teacher Brenda Olden. The award was presented by the Pattersons, LHUCA Executive Director Lindsey Maestri, and curator Linda Cullum. Hope was one of many high school seniors who presented a portfolio of ten original pieces of her artwork to a selection committee. Hope plans to attend the University of Texas in Dallas this fall and major in Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication with Animation.
The Robert Ellis Patterson Student Art Award was created in memory of gallery owner and curator, Robert Ellis Patterson, to celebrate his life, love of the arts, and passion for helping young artists. This year was the fourth year anniversary of the award.
