Foundation for Excellence Golf Tourney in the Books

The 20th annual Foundation for Excellence (FFE) Golf Tournament wrapped up another successful year on May 6, with estimated earnings just under $150,000 to support teacher and student grants.

The top Presenting Sponsors were UMC Physicians and First Financial Group of America. United Supermarkets sponsored breakfast and lunch in addition to participating at the High School donation level. Pizza Hut sponsored the afternoon pizza party. Southwest Coca Cola continued their support with beverages and water for the day in addition to their participation at the High School level sponsorship. Thanks to the more than 90 sponsors who support FFE and this annual fundraising event.

Sponsorships are the primary fundraising piece for this event, but the three benefit drawing items raised more than $3,500. Thank you to Barricades Unlimited, Infinity Lubbock and 4ORE Golf for the benefit drawing item donations.

Golf Commitee Chairman Matt Stephens with Prosperity Bank led the committee and volunteers for the second consecutive year. Thanks to Matt, the golf committee, and the Lubbock ISD Central Office volunteers.

More than 200 golfers tried their luck at winning the top spot in the morning and afternoon flights. The CEV Multimedia team earned the top title for the morning flight and Alderson Auto Group led the way in the afternoon flight. Thanks to all of our players who helped make it a wonderful day of golf.

All of the money raised at the event supports the Lubbock ISD Foundation for Excellence. FFE is a non-profit public education foundation whose purpose is to provide financial assistance to Lubbock ISD students, departments, teachers and innovative instruction programs related to student academic, leadership or performance development, which are beyond the scope of the Lubbock ISD fiscal policies.
