Did you know that your child can access district learning programs such as Amira and IXL from home throughout the summer? These programs provide engaging activities that help students maintain and strengthen the skills they learned during the school year.
We encourage students to spend a little time each week practicing reading and math. Consistent learning during the summer can help students return to school confident and ready for success.
Students can access these programs through Clever using their district login information. Please refer to the district's "How-to Access Clever from Home" directions for assistance.

Tomorrow, Feb. 26, our 5th grade students will be taking the 3rd 9 Weeks Benchmark assessment. It is important that we maintain a full testing environment on this day. No visitors will be allowed during lunch times on these days. If you have a 5th grade student testing, please make sure they get a good night's sleep, arrive on time, and are not checked out early on this date.
Next week, 3rd-5th grades will be taking RLA benchmark on Mar. 3 and the Math benchmark on Mar. 5. The same procedures will be in effect on these dates as well.
Thank you for your support and cooperation in your student's success. They have worked hard, and we know that they are ready!
Centennial Families-
The 2026 Family Engagement Survey is your opportunity to provide important feedback regarding our campus and our district. This year, the survey is shorter and more user friendly. Your answers are confidential, but there is an option to provide your contact information if you would like to continue the discussion with our staff. If you have children at more than one campus and want to provide feedback for each campus - no problem! Simply return to the link and complete the survey for each campus. Engaging in an ongoing, two-way dialogue is critical to providing our students and families with a positive educational experience. I look forward to reading your feedback and sharing the overall results with you soon.
The 2026 survey is now open and can be completed by clicking here. The survey will close on Feb. 27.
The Texas Education Agency requires all public schools in Texas to provide at least 75,600 minutes of instruction for students each school year. Any time a school day is canceled, started late or dismissed early, the district evaluates if there is a need for makeup days to ensure we meet the instructional minutes requirement for the school year.
After considering our three recent snow days (Friday, Monday and Tuesday of this week) and our late-start on Wednesday due to weather, we found that we will not need to make any schedule changes for our elementary and middle school students to meet the requirement. However, to ensure that we complete the required number of instructional minutes for our high school students, late-start Wednesdays are canceled for the rest of the spring semester, beginning this Wednesday (Feb. 4).
With this change, we will meet the instructional minutes requirement for all students across the district. This means that we will not need to use the student holiday on March 23 or the student and staff holiday on April 6 as makeup days – for now, these will remain as holidays.
If we experience more inclement weather this spring that requires cancelations, delays or early dismissals, we will reevaluate at that time to determine if schedule changes and/or make up days are needed.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Amanda Castro-Crist in our Communications & Community Relations department at (806) 219-0014.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kathy Rollo
Superintendent, Lubbock ISD

Arrival for Thursday, Jan. 29-All students and parents should use the front drop off area and enter through the main entrance door #1. Do not park and leave vehicle unattended in the drop-off lane. If you are walking students in the building, you will need to use the parking lot or street.
Please be careful and patient as you drive and pick up your student today!

Have a great weekend!
Today, there will be several agencies on campus to meet with students about the jobs that they do, so do not be alarmed with the police presence on campus!
