Last Thursday, the Community Leadership Academy (CLA) met for its second session to learn more about Lubbock ISD and public education. The academy’s morning began with a presentation on the ABCs of curriculum, instructions, and assessments. Once the presentation ended, the participants were given a modified STAAR test to attempt. After giving the standardized test their best shot, the group took a field trip over to Hardwick ES to visit with and learn alongside Pre-K students. Afterward, they traveled to Miller ES to see Amplify in action. It was another day of learning and examples of the ins and outs of the district and public education to help become better advocates and community partners with Lubbock ISD.
