Students from Estacado HS paid a visit to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center’s F. Marie Hall SimLife Center as part of “Docs for a Day,” an outreach activity conducted by the TTUHSC Student National Medical Association (SNMA). This simulation allowed students to learn about skills and components used in an emergency room. The SNMA works with schools and the community to provide a positive experience and get students interested in the medical profession. We want to give a special thank you to the Lubbock Professional Fire Fighters Association for their generous donation of coats to our students at Brown Elementary School this morning. Since 2013, more than 10,000 coats have been donated to students across the district as part of this Operation Warm program. We also want to thank the Lady Raiders Basketball team for their support and dedication to our students! #WeAreLubbockISD

Students worked the cameras and participated in creating a commercial for their school. Our Monterey HS and Atkins MS students hosted a statewide Project Lead the Way showcase at Monterey HS this week, where representatives from other districts heard about their STEM projects and student achievements. Students shared their journey from middle school to high school and how PLTW is preparing them for a career in the STEM field! #WeAreLubbockISD
