🌾🚜 5th Grade Field Trip Highlight! 🚜🌾
Last week, our 5th graders visited Lubbock ISD’s Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center and the Agri-STEM Complex to explore exciting opportunities ahead as they move into middle and high school.
Students learned how the Advanced Technology Center prepares learners for high-demand, high-tech careers through hands-on learning, certifications, internships, and even college credit. They also explored the Agri-STEM Complex, created in partnership with Texas Tech University, which offers real-world agricultural learning and career pathways starting at an early age.
We love giving our students a glimpse of what’s possible for their future! 🌟

🎉 Big News at Roberts Elementary! 🎉
Texas Top Performing School — Way to Go, Roberts Raiders! 🏆
Roberts Elementary has been named to Educational Results Partnership’s 2025 Texas Honor Roll, recognizing us as one of Texas’s top-performing schools!
This distinction celebrates schools that are making a difference by closing achievement gaps and supporting student success. Out of all eligible schools in Texas, only about 15% earned this honor!
The Honor Roll is based on STAAR results from 2023–2025 and highlights schools where students are building strong skills in reading, writing, math, and science—the foundations for future success in school, careers, and life.
We are incredibly proud of our students, staff, and families for their hard work and dedication. 📚

Dear Lubbock ISD families & staff,
The Texas Education Agency requires all public schools in Texas to provide at least 75,600 minutes of instruction for students each school year. Any time a school day is canceled, started late or dismissed early, the district evaluates if there is a need for makeup days to ensure we meet the instructional minutes requirement for the school year.
After considering our three recent snow days (Friday, Monday and Tuesday of this week) and our late-start on Wednesday due to weather, we found that we will not need to make any schedule changes for our elementary and middle school students to meet the requirement. However, to ensure that we complete the required number of instructional minutes for our high school students, late-start Wednesdays are canceled for the rest of the spring semester, beginning this Wednesday (Feb. 4).
With this change, we will meet the instructional minutes requirement for all students across the district. This means that we will not need to use the student holiday on March 23 or the student and staff holiday on April 6 as makeup days – for now, these will remain as holidays.
If we experience more inclement weather this spring that requires cancelations, delays or early dismissals, we will reevaluate at that time to determine if schedule changes and/or make up days are needed.

Mrs. Kemp presented to first grade students and their parents on the importance of practicing reading and developing fluency with sight words. Families learned helpful strategies to support reading at home, and each family received a sight word board game to make practice fun and engaging outside of school.
