This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 28) will be a student holiday and a professional development training day for Lubbock ISD faculty and staff. Classes will resume as normal on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Children notice when we are truly present. When we put down the phone, look them in the eye, and really listen, we send a simple but powerful message: You matter to me. Yet, nearly two out of three parents say their phone gets in the way during time when they could be connecting with their kids.
It doesn’t take a lot of time or effort to be present. A few focused minutes can help a child feel heard, valued, and connected. These are small moments, but those small moments build trust and strengthen relationships over time.
Try This: Set aside your phone during one conversation, car ride, or activity. Give your child your full attention and see where the moment leads.
