Both A and B teams worked hard in their scrimmage against Irons, showing tremendous growth and practicing the way they’ll play in the weeks ahead. A big thank you to the Irons Cougars and the Coronado High School coaches for their mentorship with our young men—it takes a village! We are especially grateful for Coach Woodberry, Coach Hall, Coach Tarango, and Coach Hart for the time, energy, and heart they pour into developing our athletes both on and off the field. Raider Pride runs deep! ❤️🖤

2025 FALL TRYOUTS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL
SWIMMING AND DIVING!!

WHO: All current 7th and 8th graders interested in being on a middle school
swimming or diving team. (Must know how to swim, but no previous team experience is necessary.)
WHEN: Thursday, September 4th from 5:30- 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: PETE RAGUS AQUATIC CENTER, 2004 14th St.

Students must have a current doctor’s physical to try out.
A summer swimming suit can be used for tryouts.

If a child does not have a suit, one will be made available for them at the
aquatic center.

Welcome, Daniel Kay! We’re excited to have Mr. Kay join the Raider family! He comes to us from Irons Middle School, where he taught 7th and 8th grade science for the past four years. Welcome back to Mackenzie, Coach Nicholas Torres! We’re excited to have Coach Torres return to The Mack after previously serving our campus for two years. He’s joining us from Crosbyton, where he coached football, basketball, and track—and now he’s bringing his energy and passion back to our community! This year, Coach Torres will be teaching 7th & 8th grade Social Studies and leading our tennis program. We can't wait to see the impact he’ll make both in the classroom and on the court.

Welcome to Carlos Camarena! Mr. Camarena comes to us from teaching in Alaska. Welcome back to Texas! With many years experience, Mr. Camarena will be the Mackenzie Choir Director. His many positions have included honor choir clinician, band and choir teacher, secondary ukulele, percussion and high school theater. He looks most forward to using his vast experiences to guide students in cultivating new skills and experiences that last. We are excited to add him to the team!

Friendly reminder that Lubbock ISD campuses will be open from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 to help you get registered for the upcoming school year! We will have dedicated staff on-site to guide you through the registration process. Visit your neighborhood school to register all your students regardless if they attend that school or not. 😁

Welcome Eric Hard to the Mack Family and back to LISD. As an LHS graduate, he is coming from North Crowley High School, Mr. Hart will coach our athletes and teach Science!
