April 2026 is School Library Month, and it’s the perfect time to celebrate our amazing school librarian, Mrs. Ward! She does so much more than just keep cool books on the shelves. She helps students explore new interests, teaches valuable research and tech skills, and creates inviting spaces where everyone can learn and have fun.

1st Grade Cultural Adventure 🌍
Our 1st graders had an exciting visit from the Texas Tech International Cultural Center as they traveled (through learning!) to East Africa to explore the culture of the Maasai people.
The Maasai live in Kenya and Tanzania near the Great Rift Valley. Students learned about their traditions of community living, caring for cattle, beautiful beadwork, and important coming-of-age traditions.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to discover how people live in different parts of the world and to celebrate the richness of cultures everywhere! 🌍✨

We were excited to welcome Mr. Rodriquez, Principal at Atkins Middle School, for a special Lunch and Learn with our 5th graders and their parents. He shared valuable tips about transitioning to middle school and the importance of getting involved in school activities.
Students and parents also had a blast playing “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” using some 5th grade Science STAAR STEM questions.
