Students enjoyed an engaging, hands-on experience where they explored agriculture, learned about farming and natural resources, and discovered how science connects to everyday life. From interactive exhibits to exciting activities, our youngest learners were curious, enthusiastic, and eager to explore.

Thank you to the Texas Tech International Cultural Center for presenting a wonderful Cinco de Mayo experience to our Kindergarten students!
Students learned about the cultural significance of Cinco de Mayo, explored traditions, decorated maracas, and even learned the Mexican Hat Dance. It was a fun and engaging way to celebrate culture and learning!

Principal’s Day is every day of the year here at Roberts Elementary! We want to share how proud we are of our incredible principal, Mrs. Briseno.
A principal plays such an important role in a school community—supporting teachers so they can do their best in the classroom, encouraging and guiding students to succeed, and building strong partnerships with families and the community. From creating a positive school culture to making thoughtful decisions that impact learning, a principal helps ensure everyone feels valued, safe, and inspired.

As part of our mission to nurture, develop, and inspire every child, every day, we know we are most successful when home and school work together.
Partnering with families to support positive student behavior, regular attendance, and strong learning habits—especially daily reading at home and monitoring student grades - are just a few ways we can ensure success for all Lubbock ISD students.
LEARNING AT HOME
Families can:
Read with your child everyday for 15-20 minutes and talk about what they are reading
Check your child’s grades weekly and contact the school with questions
Schools will:
Share reading expectations and tips
Keep grades up to date
Provide support to families to access and navigate the gradebook system
ATTENDANCE
Families can:
Make sure your child gets enough sleep
Help your child arrive at school on time
Let the school know if your child will be absent
Schools will:
Share the importance of daily attendance
Contact families when attendance becomes a concern
Help families solve attendance challenges
BEHAVIOR
Families can:
Talk with your child about school rules and expectations
Praise your child for positive behavior
Reach out to the school with concerns

A big thank you to Lubbock Fire Rescue for their fun and informative fire safety programs! 🚒🔥
Our 2nd graders were treated to an engaging performance that taught them the importance of smoke alarms and having a plan to stay safe in case of a fire. We appreciate the time and care put into helping our students learn how to be safe and prepared! 👏🚨
🔥 Closing bedroom doors at night helps keep smoke and fire from spreading too quickly
🔥 Make sure you have a working smoke detector
🔥 Test smoke alarms once a month
🔥 Change batteries in smoke alarms twice a year (July and December – “When Fireworks are in the Sky”)
🔥 You can NOT hide from fire – Don’t Hide…Go Outside
🔥 Get low and go – crawl under the smoke to the exit
🔥 Touch the door and door handle before exiting to test for heat
🔥 Know 2 ways to escape out of each room

We had a fantastic time at Donuts with my Grown-Ups! A huge thank you to all the amazing parents and students who joined us for a delightful morning filled with music, laughter, friends, and, of course, delicious donuts!
Last week’s Bonding with Books was full of STEM-tastic fun! 🧠✨ Participants showed incredible creativity as they used a variety of building materials to design and create with their hands. It was amazing to see imaginations come to life through hands-on learning. We love watching our students build, explore, and grow together! 🛠️📚

Our 2nd grade Roberts Raiders had a fantastic time on their field trip to the Lubbock Arts Festival! 🎨☀️ Students explored creative exhibits, discovered new artistic talents, and enjoyed a beautiful day of learning outside the classroom.
The fun continued at the park, where they soaked up the sunshine, played, and made great memories with friends. What a wonderful day of art, laughter, and fun! 🌳😊

Our Dance Connect students took the spotlight at Buddy Holly Hall this past weekend, and they were amazing! These talented 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders danced their hearts out and proudly represented Roberts Elementary. We are so proud of their hard work, confidence, and Raider spirit!
