This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 28) will be a student holiday and a professional development training day for Lubbock ISD faculty and staff. Classes will resume as normal on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

We hope our students enjoy the extended weekend while our teachers and staff get an extra opportunity for professional learning and development!

🎸🤓 Buddy Holly Rocks at Roberts! 🎶

Recently, our 3rd graders enjoyed a special program from the Buddy Holly Center, celebrating the life and lasting contributions of Lubbock’s own Buddy Holly to the world of rock and roll! ⭐

Students learned about Buddy Holly’s life, his music career, and his impact on music history. They even got to create their own pair of Buddy Holly-inspired glasses! 🤓🎸

We love helping our Raiders connect with the history, music, and amazing people who make Lubbock special! ❤️🖤

A big thank-you to the Buddy Holly Center for bringing this fun and engaging learning experience to Roberts Elementary! 🎶📚

Roberts Elementary loves making strong connections between school and home! ❤️🖤 This month, our Pre-K families joined us for “Carnations, Can-Dos, and Commitments: Lunch and Learn" with Mrs. Briseno, Principal. 🌸

Families learned about the important role we each play in helping our little learners grow and succeed!

Our 2nd graders celebrated the birthday of one of Lubbock’s most famous legends—Buddy Holly! ❤️🖤

Born right here in Lubbock on September 7, 1936, Buddy Holly would have celebrated his 90th birthday yesterday! 🎂🎶

Our students had a rockin’ time learning about his life, music, and the lasting impact he made on Lubbock and the world! 🤩🎸
