Welcome to our 1st Throwback Thursday in honor of Wheelock Elementary's 75th year! Every Thursday, tune in for throwback trivia commemorating our school's rich history as we build up to our 75th Rodeo- A Celebration of 75 Years of Wheelock! We also need your help to track down Wheelock Alumni! Please share our posts, interact, and share the link below so that we can collect contact information. We don't want to miss any Whippets or Plainsmen! Be on the lookout for more information about our big celebration coming this fall!
Throwback Thursday Trivia- and we're starting with an easy one-what made F.E. Wheelock, our namesake pictured here, worthy of having a school named after him? What is he best known for?

It's Whee Haw Wednesday, which means it's time to welcome our incredible Wheelock staff for the 2026-2027 school year! You'll see some awesome returning family members, some name changes and some brand new faces each Wednesday! Help us welcome these awesome folks to the Wheelock Ranch! First, let's start with the first people you see or talk to- The Priscillas! If you're looking to enroll, have questions about next year, or just want to chat- they're always available! Whee love Mrs. Montez and Mrs. Saldana!

Whee are HIRING! Wheelock is searching for a Special Education Paraprofessional for our specialized programs AND an educational aide! Come see us this afternoon at Monterey or reach out at the contact info on the graphic!

As we look back on a fabulous school year, we want to give a shout out to the amazing people and companies that stood in the gap for us throughout the year. We had many who took great care of us, but the folks listed here did it over and over again and anytime we asked! Please consider supporting these local businesses to show them the love they've shown us!
***Complex Community Federal Credit Union! The list of ways that they take care of us is endless, but we'd especially like to thank them for their financial lessons in both our specialized programs and with our parents, feeding our staff MANY times, providing field trip and basketball team shirts, putting together enrollment raffle baskets and for showing up for lots of our campus events and serving our stakeholders. Thank you, CCFCU! Whee are grateful for you!
***Domino's Pizza at 2113 50th, and especially Michelle Dumais! THANK YOU for feeding our students and staff anytime we asked and for helping us get creative for events like our annual Winter Ball! You all helped us meet needs multiple times and Whee are so thankful!
***Grimes Insurance! Grimes Insurance fed our staff multiple times, which we are always grateful for, but they also helped us celebrate the best teachers in the biz with Teacher of the Month surprise and $100 each month to that winner. Thank you for helping us love on our fabulous teachers. Whee are grateful!
***Sperry, Tivis and Wentz Orthodontics thank you for answering our call everytime we make it, including to hook our awesome families up with enrollment raffle prizes and for feeding our staff! Whee are thankful for your generosity!
***Kingdom Come Ministries, thank you for not only loving on our staff throughout the year, but also for filling gaps for our families. Kingdom Come Ministries has given our families financial freedom in innumerable ways and have also been a mighty prayer warrior team alongside us. Whee are so blessed by y'all.
***Chick-Fil-A at 69th and Slide and specifically, Leonard Williams, THANK YOU! Once again, anytime we called, we could count on Chick-Fil-A! They took care of our staff through multiple meals, gave us gift cards to share and incentivize, and fed our families at every All Pro Plainsmen. Whee are so very grateful!
