Mrs. Archer gets the unique experience of helping students learn how to prepare for their future - whether that is straight to the workforce or off to college. We have students representing Career and Technical Education on Capitol Hill today. Grant McCall, Jernie Perez, and Mr Brandon Grace have been at the SkillsUSA Washington Leadership Training Institute for the past few days. In addition to honing their leadership skills, students were able to visit with our Texas congressmen regarding the importance of career and technical education in schools.

Did you know that we focus on the latest and greatest in industry standards at the ATC? Today, students in Ricky Martinez's Plumbing II and HVAC II classes are focusing on the installation of the latest hot water heaters and HVAC units. These young men will be ready to hit the workforce soon with awesome skills and workmanship.

Who all likes to have a great breakfast to start your day?? Raise your hands high! We serve breakfast now at the ATC and Agri-STEM buildings. We know that some of you have to hurry to catch the bus from your campus. So, don't fret. We'll give you something to eat once you arrive. Many thanks to our Aramark partner for helping us get set up and rolling.

BREAKING NEWS! WE HAVE A NATIONAL GOLD MEDALIST!!! Isabella Aranda (ATC and EHS graduate) was one of three Gold Medalists in the National Scholastic Art Competition. She joins the ranks of notable alumni, Stephen King, Joyce Carol Oates and Andy Warhol-all of whom have won Scholastic Awards when they were teens. Her work will be displayed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Ruth and Harold D Uria Center for Education in NEW YORK CITY this fall! Over 340,000 original works of art were submitted and fewer than 2,500 received a National Medal. Four LISD students medaled for Nationals. Congratulations to Isabella and to her teacher, Mrs. Brenda Olden!!!
