We are excited to share some wonderful news from this past Saturday’s Regional Spanish Spelling Bee!
We had two amazing students represent Cavazos with pride and confidence: Jaden and Eveelyn. Both girls did an outstanding job and truly showcased their hard work and dedication.
🌟 Special congratulations to Jaden, who placed 3rd overall and earned her spot to represent Cavazos at the State Spanish Spelling Bee in El Paso! We are incredibly proud of her incredible achievement.
A huge shout-out to Mrs. Herrera for stepping in for me at the event and supporting our students throughout the competition—your help and dedication are truly appreciated!

We are thrilled to announce that our very own Justin Gonzales earned a spot in the All-Region Symphonic Band (2nd Band) — placing 2nd chair after an incredible audition this morning! 🌟
Justin ranked 11th out of 66 trumpet players and is officially the 4th best trumpet player in Lubbock ISD from this audition! 🎵
This accomplishment comes on top of his earlier recognition as 1st chair in the All-Region Mariachi earlier this year — a true testament to his dedication and growth as a musician. 👏
Justin will rehearse with the All-Region Band on November 17–18 and perform in a regional concert on the evening of November 18 alongside talented musicians from across our region.
Way to go, Justin! We are so proud of you — keep shining bright, both on and off the stage!
