National Junior Honor Society

National Junior Honor Society

Incoming 8th Grade students are eligible for National Junior Honor Society. The criterion for students to get into NJHS consists of:

  • 3.5 Grade Point Average (or higher)

  • demonstrating leadership and citizenship requirements

  • maintaining good attendance, and

  • exhibiting good behavior in the classroom. 

     

The four characteristics that are the focus of the National Junior Honor Society are:

  • Scholarship

  • Leadership

  • Service

  • Character 

Some service activities that Dunbar NJHS students have done in the past years include the following: volunteered at the South Plains Food Bank, played bingo/games with clients at Windmill Retirement Center, made fleece baby blankets for NICU babies at University Medical Center, and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House.

The students that are inducted into the National Junior Honor Society have earned this honor because of their hard work in school and exhibiting strong leadership, citizenship, attendance, and behavior!!!
