If Mr. Butler has ever been your teacher or your child's teacher, you know how absolutely incredible he is. Please join us in congratulating him!

Are you interested in learning how to order a letter jacket for your student? We’ve got you covered!
Join us on September 15th at 5:45 PM in the cafeteria for an informative session with Tamara Rose representing Herff Jones. She’ll be on site to walk you through the ordering process and answer any questions you may have.
This session is scheduled right after the College Fair and just before the London 2027 Informational Meeting, so it’s the perfect time to stop by and get all the details.
We hope to see you there!

We cannot wait to host 35+ college representatives at the Talkington TACRAO College Fair on Monday, September 15 from 3:30-4:30. Parents/family members who plan to attend, please pre-register for your visitors' badges here: https://www.schoolsafeid.com/event/7230
The fair will take place in our fine arts wing, so you will enter door 8 for the event.
After the fair, all students and families can join us in the cafeteria for college planning with our College Success Advisor, Mrs. Couch, from 4:45-6:00 pm. Students are encouraged to bring their Chromebooks to the College Bound Family Meeting, if possible.
If you have any questions about this event, email Brandi.Couch@lubbockisd.org.

Mariah and Makayla are off to a strong start this fall, and we can't wait to hear more about how they are leading and learning at PVAMU. The transition from Talkington to this small college campus has worked well, and they are doing great.
These two both left a legacy of excellence here at Talkington, and we know they will keep that going throughout college and beyond.
Way to go, Warriors!

All Talkington Warriors are eligible to compete in the challenge! Teams of 3-4 students could have the chance to represent Talkington at the YWPN STEM Challenge in Dallas! There will be a short student interest meeting this week in Mrs. Doyal's room (room 117) on Thursday after school from 4:10-4:25 and Friday before school from 7:45-8:00 (they will have the same information, so come to whichever works best for your schedule). For more information, see Mrs. Doyal or Mrs. Sanders.
Last year, Talkington swept both the middle school and high school categories. Let's continue that greatness! We loved seeing the students opening their amazing prizes!

It should not surprise you to hear that class of 2025 graduate Amarachi Uche-Eboh is already getting involved in leadership on her college campus within her first week. She was accepted into Princeton's Student Government, specifically the Sustainability Committee. She was also spotted on the Princeton social media page in their opening exercises (photo above).
We know she will continue the incredible success she had as a Warrior in her new home in New Jersey. With Ivy League resources at her disposal, she will have even more ability to research solutions that change the world.
Amarachi, you amaze us all. Keep that Warrior spirit going! We can't wait to see what you do next.

Dear families,
We’re thrilled to share that we’re heading on the STEM Discovery: London Tour in Summer 2027, and we would love for your student to join us! From code breaking to criminal investigations, London is the place for inquiring minds and problem solvers.
This is an incredible opportunity for students to explore new places, experience different cultures, and gain lifelong skills like independence and confidence. This trip is for Summer 2027, allowing for payments to be divided over 20 months! Meeting details:

This is a friendly reminder there is no school on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day. We'll see everyone back in school on Tuesday, September 2.
#WeAreLubbockISD

The 8th Grade B team played them close the entire game, and the second set of the 8th grade A team was really close.
We are proud of our Warriors, and we look forward to seeing them on the court again next week!

Kami Mazzolini and Kylie Westhoefer, class of 2023, continue their success at Texas State University. These two have made the most of their time as Bobcats. They have gotten involved on campus, sought opportunities for leadership and taken tough courses. We are excited to share that Kylie is the vice president of membership for Gamma Phi Beta, and Kami is the vice president of finance for Delta Gamma.
They are continuing to push each other and support each other, just as they did here all those years. We could not be more proud of them.
Kami and Kylie, you two really are amazing. We know you will change the world.

Her first semester has just begun, and she is already loving the campus, the people, and the opportunities. She was accepted into Hampton University's Choir, after participating in choir since elementary school. She was inducted into Hampton University and accepted the class name, Onyx XIV. Her class is the first to receive specific pins at the induction ceremony.
Mychael, you are already missed around here, but we could not be more proud to see this photo of you all grown up and living your best life. We are proud of you for chasing your dreams and getting involved on campus from the outset. Way to go, Warrior!

We love to see our Warriors staying connected and pushing each other to succeed the way these two are doing. It is at the heart of our mission statement.
Kiylah and Angelina, have a fantastic fall semester! We love to see you working hard to achieve your goals, and these two photos bring us a lot of joy. You have grown up, from impacting our little school community to being out in the real world ready to change people's lives. Keep it up, Warriors.

The two photos feature Jaycie in front of the famous Golden Dome at Notre Dame and her first homecoming at Talkington in 6th grade. We are so proud to know everything she accomplished as a student here and to see her already succeeding in her new home, a school ranked #18 in the country with only a 12% acceptance rate! Impressive! She is already seeing how many amazing opportunities there are, and we know she will take full advantage of everything at her disposal!
Actually, she's already on it! Jaycie was selected to participate in the ASCEND summer study program, she has been accepted to the Transformative Leaders Program, and she is a part of the Galvin Scholars. She is taking 19 credit hours (WOW!), and she has fallen in love with the beauty of the campus. She can't believe how green everything is.
We miss you, Jaycie, but our hearts are 100% full of pride.
