SAVE THE DATE! On Monday, August 11, we will have Open House and Orientations at Talkington, and we are so excited to see everyone. More details about each event will be sent to families soon. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. Overview of events on August 11: 6th grade and new TMS student orientation: 3:00-5:00 pm 9th grade and new THS student orientation: 3:00-6:00 pm Middle School Meet the Teacher: 5:15-6:15 pm General Information Session (all students and families in auditorium): 6:15-7:00 pm High School Meet the Teacher: 7:00-8:00 pm We know that the 2025-2026 school year will be one for the record books, and we cannot wait to get started!

This year, all seniors will design small businesses as their capstone project, and we will need help from the Warrior community to make these projects strong. If you have expertise you can share in ANY area (as their businesses could be about any topic), we would love to have you serve as a mentor to a team. If you have business experience, we are looking for coaches to help instruct the students about the different aspects of business. If you like Shark Tank, we are looking for judges! CALLING ALL SENIORS! Check out this UPDATED schedule for our July College Boot Camp. We will have support from The College Essay Guy and a Brown University graduate as we write admissions essays--in addition to our amazing Admit AI platform! We will build incredible college lists and get applications started. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend as well. I can't wait to see you on July 8 from 10:30am-1:00pm. Check Google Classroom for the link if you need to participate virtually. (In person preferred if at all possible.) Then we will be back on July 10 from 9am-12pm to get our first drafts written. SENIORS! College Bound Boot Camp is ALMOST HERE! Spend the month of July getting your college applications ready to go--"future you" will thank you for being ahead of schedule, believe us. Warriors in Japan! Rising 9th graders Vera Bray, Arianna Charles, Adeline Hohbein, and Charly Iaulualo and rising 7th grader Kassandra Hames served as Junior Ambassadors from the city of Lubbock in Musashino City, Japan. What an amazing experience! We are so proud of these students for their leadership, their willingness to experience new things, and their bravery in signing up for this opportunity. Way to represent our city and our school!

ATTENTION RISING SENIORS If you are taking the ACT this Saturday, you have some steps to take to prepare (in addition to studying, of course!): -Come to THS to get a calculator -print your test ticket -gather your needed materials into a go-bag -know exactly where to report for testing (details are on your test ticket). If you didn't register for the June test, there is still time to register for the July test on actstudent.org. Contact Mrs. Couch to see if you qualify to test for free!

Rising 9th grader Allison Phillips arrived at her summer program at Vanderbilt University yesterday. We know she will have an amazing time and learn a lot! We are proud of her for spending the spring semester fundraising and filling out scholarships to pay for this opportunity. What dedication! Attention, Talkington high school athletes! On Monday, June 2, at 8:30 AM there is an informational meeting about our inaugural UIL athletics season with coach Tanner Pylant in the Talkington gym. Parents and athletes are encouraged to attend! Basketball practice to follow.

Congratulations to 6th grader Marlowe Barnes--a National Champion! After her 1st place win in the Daughters of the American Revolution 6th grade American History Essay Contest at the local level, she then placed first at state, first at the South Central Division level, and now we know she won 1st place at the National level, too! She will attend the DAR Continental Congress in Washington, D.C., in June, where she will be recognized and give a speech at the DAR Constitution Hall in front of 4,000 members and distinguished guests! WOW! Way to go, Marlowe! A national champion! That is incredible!

This moment right here shows the true meaning of sisterhood at Talkington. Amarachi Uche-Eboh was named Miss THS, and the other candidates--Myranda Burchfield, Taylor Harrison, Ella Christianson, and Noura Islam-- jumped for joy. They ran over to hug her and celebrate her success. Pure joy for for their sister. It still brings tears to our eyes . This is absolutely what it means to be a Warrior.
