Silly costumes--serious money!
We are so proud of these students who are moving on the in the VFW's Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen Scholarship Contests!
Congratulations to the following students who are our campus winners for the Patriot's Pen Contest: 6th grader Marlow Barnes; 7th grader Fernanda Castaneda Carranza; and 8th graders Vera Bray, Anna Galbraith, Charly Iaulualo, Allison Phillips, and Corina Smith. For our high school Voice of Democracy campus winners, we have 10th graders Alana Baxter, Abigail Clayton, Devi Gayen, Kaelah Harris, Madeline McDonald, Tatum Masters, Olivia Phillips, Mabel Roller, and Boluwatife Tapere; 11th graders Brinda Gayen and Catherine Lituania; and 12th grader Amarachi Uche-Eboh. These students' work will be sent to our area VFW for judging. We will learn their local results at the Veteran's Day assembly. Those who move to the next level have a chance at up to $30,000 for high school students and $5,000 for middle schoolers. Last year, we had several students who had checks presented to them at the Veteran's Day event, so we hope that tradition continues.
