Decorate a pumpkin as your favorite literary character/book/or scene!
Pumpkins (real or not, doesn't matter) can be:
Painted
Carved
Mod-podge
Whatever students can think of...
Pumpkins will be on display in the library the week of November 3 through 7
Pumpkin entry forms are due, with the pumpkin, to Mrs. Henricks in the library on or before Wednesday, October 29!
Students may start bringing them anytime now.
Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. The prizes will be bigger and better than in years past! See Mrs. Henricks for the entry form and details.



Last weekend, they competed in the Arlington Invitational in Arlington, Texas, and tied for 12th place.
Here are their personal results:
Lola Builtron -placed 4th in 1 meter diving (new school record)
Eve Crider- 50 free- Personal best time, 100 Breaststroke 17th (New School Record)
Ella Cummins-50 free- personal best time
Courtney Partain- 50 Free- Personal best time
Lyndie Partain- 200 Free- Personal best time
The girls swam the 200 Free Relay and placed 23rd (E. Crider, L. Partain, C. Partain, E. Cummins) and the 400 Free Relay team placed 19th (E. Crider, L. Partain, C. Partain, E. Cummins).
The swimmer's next meet is here in Lubbock at the Pete Ragus Aquatic Center on Oct 31st-Nov 1st. Come out and support them!
This Friday, Talkington organizations are teaming up for a big bake sale. Students will need cash to purchase the goodies at lunch.

Seniors are working in teams to create start up businesses, and each team needs at least one community mentor to provide support.

The Lady Warriors were led by Ia'Kah Burgess with 17 kills and 22 digs! Zyriel Hawkins had 28 assists to run the offense!

It's that time of year - HOMECOMING 2025!
This year's theme is HOCO: MISSION POSSIBLE! It's all about TOP SECRET, Spies, Secret Agent-type shenanigans. You'll want to be part of our interactive mystery, so be prepared!
Oct 6-10 HOCO Dress Up Days **Note: All costumes must be appropriate for a school setting and cover the parts of the body that uniforms cover.
Monday: Super Spy - Dress as your favorite spy/detective
Tuesday: Hero vs. Villain - Are you the culprit, or will you save the day?
Wednesday: "Double" Agent - Twin with your friend
Thursday: Master of Disguise - "Wait...who are you?"
Friday: MISSION Complete - Super Spirit Day! Deck out in your purple, black, and white, and find out the outcome of the Homecoming Mystery!

Tailgate 10:15am - 11:15 - Join us for the cookout, games, music, temporary tattoos, and face painting!

Presentation of HOMECOMING COURT and crowning of HOMECOMING QUEEN will be directly after JV games
Varsity HOMECOMING Game begins at 12:00 noon!
