Our middle school teams played hard against Frenship yesterday. Even though they didn't come away with the victory, all teams improved from last week and will continue to grow as we have morning practices.
The 8th Grade B team played them close the entire game, and the second set of the 8th grade A team was really close.
We are proud of our Warriors, and we look forward to seeing them on the court again next week!

First day of JUNIOR year! (It is crazy how time has flown!)
Kami Mazzolini and Kylie Westhoefer, class of 2023, continue their success at Texas State University. These two have made the most of their time as Bobcats. They have gotten involved on campus, sought opportunities for leadership and taken tough courses. We are excited to share that Kylie is the vice president of membership for Gamma Phi Beta, and Kami is the vice president of finance for Delta Gamma.
They are continuing to push each other and support each other, just as they did here all those years. We could not be more proud of them.
Kami and Kylie, you two really are amazing. We know you will change the world.

When it came time to select her college last year, Mychael Dawodu had a tough choice because a lot of great schools offered her admission and scholarships. After visiting many places, Mychael came back very sure of her choice: Hampton University in Virginia, a top ranked HBCU!
Her first semester has just begun, and she is already loving the campus, the people, and the opportunities. She was accepted into Hampton University's Choir, after participating in choir since elementary school. She was inducted into Hampton University and accepted the class name, Onyx XIV. Her class is the first to receive specific pins at the induction ceremony.
Mychael, you are already missed around here, but we could not be more proud to see this photo of you all grown up and living your best life. We are proud of you for chasing your dreams and getting involved on campus from the outset. Way to go, Warrior!

Class of 2024 graduates, Kiylah Phillips and Angelina Holloway met as middle schoolers and continue to support each other as Texans at South Plains College. Our hearts are full!
We love to see our Warriors staying connected and pushing each other to succeed the way these two are doing. It is at the heart of our mission statement.
Kiylah and Angelina, have a fantastic fall semester! We love to see you working hard to achieve your goals, and these two photos bring us a lot of joy. You have grown up, from impacting our little school community to being out in the real world ready to change people's lives. Keep it up, Warriors.

Jaycie Baxter, THS class of 2025, has joined the Fighting Irish at the University of Notre Dame!
The two photos feature Jaycie in front of the famous Golden Dome at Notre Dame and her first homecoming at Talkington in 6th grade. We are so proud to know everything she accomplished as a student here and to see her already succeeding in her new home, a school ranked #18 in the country with only a 12% acceptance rate! Impressive! She is already seeing how many amazing opportunities there are, and we know she will take full advantage of everything at her disposal!
Actually, she's already on it! Jaycie was selected to participate in the ASCEND summer study program, she has been accepted to the Transformative Leaders Program, and she is a part of the Galvin Scholars. She is taking 19 credit hours (WOW!), and she has fallen in love with the beauty of the campus. She can't believe how green everything is.
We miss you, Jaycie, but our hearts are 100% full of pride.

Go Trinity Tigers and Timber Darling!
Timber Darling, THS class of 2025, is loving the variety of opportunities at Trinity University in San Antonio. She has discovered the amazing library, including the special collections and archives, and she says her dorm room is surprisingly spacious. After orientation week and a few days of classes, Timber advises that students who are considering applying to Ivy League schools should also apply to Trinity University, due to their incredible programs, liberal arts curriculum choices, and small class sizes. The ability to double major and take classes in a range of interests is something that pushed her toward this college.
Trinity ranks # 1 in the nation for merit aid, #9 for best lab science facilities, and #1 in Texas for liberal arts and small colleges. Timber rates her experience very high so far, too.
We are so proud of Timber! We are missing her around campus, for sure, but we love seeing her chasing her dreams at a wonderful university. We know she will learn and create so much in these next four years, and we can't wait to see it!

Let's hear it for Talkington!
We would love to pack the stands at all of our home games! Home is where the crowd is! If you show up and show out, the players will feel at home, even though we aren't in our own gym. Make some noise in support of our wonderful Warriors.
Mark your calendars for these events and locations. We can't wait to see you there!

We know she will continue to thrive! Once a Warrior, always a Warrior.

Happy first day of school to Brooklyn Williams, THS class of 2024 and current Angelo State University Ram!
Brooklyn is back at ASU this semester, and she loves it. She said, "I think it was a perfect choice for me, and I love how many of my classmates are coming here now! I have made so many friends and was able to room with my best friend this year (hence the first day picture together). As many would say Talkington really did help me prepare for college--most of the classes are actually easier than they were [at THS] if you would believe that!" Our Talkington teachers are the best, right?!?
We are so proud of you, Brooklyn. You continue to amaze us all. Keep up the great work!
Brooklyn is a true Lady Warrior. Way to go!

We are glad she stayed close to home, so she can come back often to visit us. We know she will continue to lead by example, exhibit excellence in all things, and make a difference in her classes and the community. Way to go, Myranda!
Myranda said to remind everyone to read their syllabus and calendars before classes start to be prepared on the first day! Great advice!
