We went 40+ rounds to find our champion for the district Spelling Bee. The Bee will be held at Talkington on February 28 at 9:00 am. Shout out to Mrs. Henricks and Ms. A for running the show! All of the students did a great job in the contest!

Each grade level has been assigned an age group to imitate for our dress up day this Friday, January 16. All costumes must be school appropriate and cover a student's body the same way a uniform would.
6th grade: Toddlers
7th grade: Lower elementary
8th grade: Upper elementary
9th grade: Tweens
10th grade: College
11th grade: Middle aged
12th grade: Senior citizens
Staff: Teens
We look forward to some fun to end the week!

🎉 Texas History Day at Talkington 🎉
Yesterday, our 7th grade students showcased months of hard work at Texas History Day, presenting research projects that explored meaningful moments, people, and movements in Texas history. From exhibits and websites to documentaries, students demonstrated strong historical thinking, creativity, and confidence as they shared their learning with our judges. Mrs. Allison definitely prepared these students to present incredible work!
We are incredibly proud of the dedication our students showed throughout this process and grateful for the community judges who volunteered their time to support and encourage our historians.
Thank you to Westex Federal Credit Union for generously providing breakfast and lunch for our judges to help make this day a success.

High school and middle school Student Council leaders teamed up to host the Fifth Grade Leadership Workshop today. Students from across the Lubbock area attended to gain insight into what it means to be a leader and to learn more about Talkington with fun games, important lessons, and a tour.
