My name is Valerie Payne, and I am excited to join the Cavazos Middle School family as a 6th Grade Math Teacher!
I have been in education for 18 years—15 years as a paraprofessional and the past 3 years as a classroom teacher. Most of my career has been spent at Lubbock-Cooper's Bush Middle School, where I had the opportunity to grow as an educator and serve amazing students.
My husband and I have a wonderful blended family with five children, and our youngest will be an 8th grader this year. We are also proud grandparents to two grandchildren!

My name is Valerie Payne, and I am excited to join the Cavazos Middle School family as a 6th Grade Math Teacher!
I have been in education for 18 years—15 years as a paraprofessional and the past 3 years as a classroom teacher. Most of my career has been spent at Lubbock-Cooper's Bush Middle School, where I had the opportunity to grow as an educator and serve amazing students.
My husband and I have a wonderful blended family with five children, and our youngest will be an 8th grader this year. We are also proud grandparents to two grandchildren!

Before stepping into education, I spent more than 20 years in management. Last year, I followed my passion for coaching and education by joining Irons Middle School as an assistant coach. I'm excited to continue that journey at Cavazos and help our student-athletes grow both on and off the field.
