Panther families, STAAR testing is approaching, so I wanted to share some dates and important reminders for you to share with your student. Tuesday, April 8th - Reading STAAR Grades 6 - 8 Tuesday, April 15th - Science STAAR Grade 8 Thursday, April 17th - Social Studies STAAR Grade 8 Thursday, April 24th - Math STAAR Grades 6 - 8, Algebra I End of Course Exam Students must be present on those days. STAAR testing is a state requirement. Please schedule all appointments around those dates. Testing reminders: No cell phones. Students who have a cell phone during testing will have their test invalidated. Have them leave their phones at home, or turn them in to the test administrator. They will be given back after testing is complete. No snacks or drinks. The school will provide drinks and snacks for students. Please do not send additional snacks with your student. No blankets. Testing environments will be kept at a comfortable temperature. No lunch deliveries. Students will be served lunch from the cafeteria in their testing room. Get a good night's rest before test day. Dear Lubbock ISD families and staff, Lubbock ISD is hosting Bond Information Sessions to share details about the proposed bond package, answer questions, and discuss how it will impact our schools and community. We invite you to attend and encourage you to bring your friends, family, and neighbors. Upcoming Bond Information Sessions: Monday, March 31 at 6 p.m. – Dunbar College Preparatory Academy, 2010 E. 26th St., Thursday, April 3 at 6 p.m. – Hutchinson Middle School, 3102 Canton Ave. Monday, April 14 at 6 p.m. – Irons Middle School, 5214 79th St. These sessions are an opportunity to learn more about the bond proposal and ask any questions you may have. Dunbar Parents, Due to the hazardous winds today, we will need to cancel the Spring Fling for tonight. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Please join us Friday in the gym for the Spring Fling, hosted by our NJHS. Dance starts at 5:00P and concession will be available. All students will need to have transportation to and from the Spring Fling. We will dismiss the students @ 8:00P. Please be there as students will wait outside for their rides. Let's have some fun before Spring break!!

Valentines Day Reminders: We do not accept deliveries of any kind. A PARENT can deliver food to the front office during LUNCH TIME ONLY and your student will be called to the front office to it pick it up. All deliveries and food drop offs outside of lunch will be kept in the office until the end of the day. Student are not allowed to carry around or exchange gifts, flowers, or anything else that will not fit in their backpacks. These items will be confiscated and can be picked up at the end of the day. Dear Dunbar College Preparatory Academy families, As many of you have already heard, Lubbock ISD formed a Future Focus Committee tasked with planning for the future of Lubbock ISD’s schools. We want to keep you informed about the ongoing work of the Future Focus Committee, and the committee is discussing updates relevant to Dunbar CPA. We know that conversations about potential changes can bring many questions and concerns. Although there are no finalized decisions at this time, we are committed to open and transparent communication. To help answer questions and provide clarity, we’re hosting a second community meeting on Monday, November 18 at 6 p.m., where campus and district leaders will be available to address your concerns and share any important updates. We value each member of the Dunbar family and are here to support you and your child. Thank you for your partnership.

Dunbar Family, We would love to invite you to attend Thanksgiving Lunch with your students. The lunch times are listed on the attached flyer. Reminders: If you have students in multiple grade levels please notify the front office when you arrive. You must sign in at the front kiosks, ID is required to sign in. You will eat with your student(s) in the Library, NO EXCEPTIONS You are only allowed to eat with students that you are listed as one of their parent contacts. You are allowed to bring outside food, NO DELIVERIES. Thank you all for your support
