Freshmen - Juniors today and tomorrow you will take your yearbook photos with your history classes. If you have Kniffen, Oliver, Perez, Collins, Flowers or Sanders you go today with those classes. Students in Slowik, Boedeker, Carlile, Edwards, Jackson and Fritz will take their photos tomorrow.
Monterey Esports teams will meet Tuesday after school in room 243. Interested gamers that would like to play competitively against other teams in Texas come by and check out the Fall game list and join a team.
Students, are you thinking about joining the US Military? If so, the ASVAB is a test required for enlistment. MHS will offer the ASVAB on Tuesday, September 15th at 8am in the BTR. This will be the only time it is offered on campus this year, and it is open to any 10th-12th graders considering military service. There is no cost for the test, but students do need to register for it. Registration is open now and will close at the end of the day on Thursday, September 10th. You can find more information and the registration form on the MHS website under "Departments" then "Testing." See Mrs. Page in Room 120 if you need help registering or have questions.
Freshmen Class officer packets are due on Friday, September 4th and elections will be held on Thursday, September 10th via google form. Be a leader and sign up today!
Applications are open now through September 14th for Chick Fil A Leader Academy! Interested 10th - 12th grade students can apply using the link on the homepage of the MHS website. This service organization meets monthly during the school day and will work to organize service projects that will require some time outside of the school day. If you love to eat chicken and want to change the world, this might be for you!
Hey, Plainsmen! Come to the UIL Academics welcome meeting today after school in the library. We'll have snacks and info about the different competition teams for this year. Don't miss it!

Art After Hours will begin on tomorrow and will meet every Thursday from 4:05–5:05 PM in Room 259. This club is open to students who want to spend time around like-minded, creative people, need additional support with their artwork, or are dedicated to developing their skills and creating work for competitions
Congratulations to our varsity Plainsmen Tennis team. They gutted out a very gritty 10-9 win over Lubbock Cooper last night - the match could have easily gone either way, but we toughed it out and pulled out the win!. Great job Tennis!
Don’t forget that Friday is CAMO DAY as we go on a Bulldog Hunt vs. Abilene Wylie Friday at 7 at PCP! Be there!
