Our 7th graders are doing loads of creative thinking and deep analysis in their Reading-Language Arts class. Mrs. Hamblin has taught them to use hexagonal thinking, to take poetry line-by-line, and to figure out character motivation with STEAL Characterization. With activities like this, students certainly love learning, which will help their skills continue to grow.

Look at these delighted faces! Students in Mrs. Sanders' classes explored science phenomena to investigate chemical and physical changes. It is wonderful to see our Warriors valuing the learning process and diving into STEM. Thank you, Mrs. Sanders, for sparking joy.

Read the Smore for August 26 - September 1: https://secure.smore.com/n/hye57-talkington-warrior-weekly

We will have our back to school pep rally this Monday, August 26. Our wonderful cheerleaders have selected a fun theme based on Teen Beach Movie, so all students are invited to dress up as either bikers or surfers.
All costumes must be school appropriate (no excess skin showing, no inappropriate images, no bare feet).
We are excited to cheer on our athletes and show our Warrior pride.

Our first Wednesday Enrichment activity encouraged our students to think about what it means to be a Warrior. Using our Student Creed, students worked in groups to explain what a Warrior should sound like, look like, and act like. We look forward to weekly SEL and leadership training for our middle school students during their enrichment time.

Good morning, Talkington!
High schoolers being dropped off for late start on Wednesday mornings will also be dropped off on the south side of campus by door 6; same procedure as other days!
Thank you!

Morning Announcements
Never miss an important announcement just because you are off campus during first period or absent. Students can always see what our daily announcements are by checking their grade level Google Classroom under the Talkington Info topic.

Swim Tryouts this week!
Best of luck to all of our Warrior swimmers.

Congratulations on an epic first week of the '24-'25 school year! Check out our new Smore to see what amazing things are coming up at Talkington: https://secure.smore.com/n/q2tv1-talkington-warrior-weekly

Thank you for bearing with us as we implement our new drop-off and pick-up procedures at Talkington!
For both, please pull up ALL the way to Door 6 (last cone). This will ensure the line doesn't back up as much.
For pick-up, it would be helpful to have a sheet of paper with your student's name and grade level in BOLD so we can circulate the name.

Good afternoon, Talkington Warriors! Check out our updates for tomorrow, including the new bus schedule: https://secure.smore.com/n/q4ebw-warrior-weekly-for-august-12-16

See you August 14!

Our amazing seniors are already starting to get their acceptance letters to colleges. Congratulations to Makayla Mack, who received her West Texas A&M acceptance! Go Buffs!
