Here is this weeks Sick Children's Clinic. This a free service provided to anyone that needs to have their child seen. They take children from newborn to high school.

Amazing results from our middle school orchestra UIL contest! Congratulations to all orchestra students and their teacher, Dr. Allen.

Wait a minute! Does that flyer say JEANS FOR A WEEK!? And we're raising money for a great cause?! You got that right!
Bring your loose change and your big bills starting next week as middle school, high school, and staff battle it out in a penny war for jeans to raise money for the UMC Children's Miracle Network!
Pennies give your team positive points. Put silver coins and dollars in the other teams' buckets to subtract from their points. Highest scoring team can wear jeans the entire week after spring break. See Mrs. Cardelli or Ms. Couch for more details.

Warrior Families,
Please participate in the annual Lubbock ISD Family Engagement Survey.

These pictures showcasing the brilliant creativity of our DI teams have us super fired up to come out to support them at their Regional Tournament this Saturday at Coronado. If you'd like the details of who is on the teams and when teams compete, check this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NZUxz9_-HEfS40xRSGlQdqL4A41LlpHV0qXVgbtQrzQ/edit?usp=sharing
Students in middle school and high school will compete in instant challenges and improve performances throughout the day. If you've never been, I highly recommend it! Thanks, again, to our amazing DI coaches, Mrs. Fitzhugh and Mrs. Foster, and all of the amazing Warriors who have spent a whole semester preparing! Best of luck on Saturday.

Staff Spotlight on our amazing Destination Imagination coaches, Mrs. Fitzhugh and Mrs. Foster! A colleague nominated them for a Shining Star Award for their tireless efforts with the DI teams: hours upon hours of practice, weekends, and energy poured into the teams!
The DI students say that these ladies "are really motivating," "devote so much time," "help students through hard times," and "support us through it all."
Thank you, Mrs. Fitzhugh and Mrs. Foster, for offering this great opportunity to our students!

Our acceptance letters have all gone out! We would love to see posts of new Lady Warriors here with their banners or letters. We cannot wait to welcome them home to Talkington School for Young Women Leaders.

Talkington families,
This is a reminder that students may be dropped off in the morning beginning at 7:15am and should be picked up in the afternoon no later than 5:45pm. We have had students arriving before 7:00am recently and others not picked up until after 6:00pm, and we only have provisions for supervision between 7:15am and 5:45pm. Thank you for your attention to this safety concern.

We hope our Lubbock ISD family is staying safe and warm on this snowy Sunday! This is a friendly reminder about how we communicate weather delays or cancellations. We share information by using:
1. Our social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and X).
2. Our website (www.LubbockISD.org).
3. Our district notification system (phone call, text message, email, and app push notification).
4. Our district television station (Lubbock ISD-TV).
5. Our local media outlets
You can find more information about how we make these decisions and when we communicate about them at our weather information page at www.LubbockISD.org/weather.

Lubbock ISD classes are on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, February 12, due to the increased possibility of icy conditions impacting travel to school and work. School start times will be adjusted as follows: elementary schools will begin at 9:45 a.m., middle schools will begin at 10:20 a.m., and high schools will begin at 10:15 a.m. Buses will run on a two-hour delay schedule. There will be no classes tomorrow at the Byron Martin ATC or the Agri-STEM Complex.
Weather conditions will continue to be monitored, and we will provide additional communication tomorrow morning no later than 7 a.m. if there are any changes.
Please stay safe and warm!
