We are thrilled to welcome our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Estrada! Mrs. Estrada will be stepping into the role previously held by Mr. Anderson and will be responsible for handling students in the A-C alpha group. -- A note from Mrs. Estrada: I am so excited to join the Lubbock High family! I have spent my 13 years in education at Cavazos Middle School student teaching, teaching science and coaching the math/science TMSCA and UIL teams for 8 years, and as an assistant principal the last 4 years. My husband Zach is a dispatcher for LFD. My daughter Charlie is at Hutch and my son Logan is at Roscoe Wilson. I love the Red Raiders, watching my kiddos dance and play basketball, spending time with my three aussie pups, and running! I am so blessed and thankful to get to follow the CMS students to Lubbock High and get to know all of the other amazing students here. I cannot wait to meet and get to know all of you. Our Academic Decathlon WesterNERDS leave tomorrow to compete at State in San Antonio! Best of luck to these academic weapons: Mason Taylor, Echo Ancell, Ethan Min, Madeline Weaver, Michael Herrera, Toby Tiner, Aubrie Alvarado, and Robert Gaines. The team is coached by head coach Thomas (the Boss) Reynolds and underling coaches Erin Castle and Nick Reeves.

Today is National PTA Founders Day! The National Parent Teacher Association (National PTA®) has worked toward bettering the lives of every child in education, health and safety. Thank you to all of our PTA members for making a difference for our school!

This week is National FCCLA Week! FCCLA helps members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.

We hope our Lubbock ISD family is staying safe and warm on this snowy Sunday! This is a friendly reminder about how we communicate weather delays or cancellations. We share information by using: 1. Our social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and X). 2. Our website (www.LubbockISD.org). 3. Our district notification system (phone call, text message, email, and app push notification). 4. Our district television station (Lubbock ISD-TV). 5. Lubbock ISD classes are on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, February 12, due to the increased possibility of icy conditions impacting travel to school and work. School start times will be adjusted as follows: elementary schools will begin at 9:45 a.m., middle schools will begin at 10:20 a.m., and high schools will begin at 10:15 a.m. Buses will run on a two-hour delay schedule. There will be no classes tomorrow at the Byron Martin ATC or the Agri-STEM Complex. Weather conditions will continue to be monitored, and we will provide additional communication tomorrow morning no later than 7 a.m. if there are any changes. Please stay safe and warm!
